but you know... what can i do? as wu, and later (to cw's dismay) wyclef, say: cash rules everything around me...
dolla dolla bill, y'all.
luckily we poor peeps are not the ones in worst trouble, it seems(at least for a minute). i have been silently giggling at all the people around me who are freaking about their lost money on the stock market and elsewhere around the financial world. i have nothing to lose, monetarily! word to the working poor.
although i do have to traipse around on a busted knee, so i won't giggle for too long, eh?
lots of stuff going on, namely moving on from the library to get more fully involved at LaGuardia. It is definitley sad to leave my dudes at AG but i have to seize this opportunity with both hands. i am so in love with my LaG job and i can't wait to do it full time... and with marriage and babies(baby) in the no-longer-so distant future, i have to get moving! i will be finished with my MA in under a year, so...
the dance literacy project that leanne and i are orchestrating is absolutely amazing as well. i am so proud of us- we make a really good team, and i hope that this is going to turn into a lasting and growing partnership, which will lead us to even greater things. i plan to propose a presentation of this concept for inclusion in The Ohio State University Literacy Conference, in April. Harvey Graff, Shirley Brice Heath and a lot of other "big names" in literacy studies are going to be on hand, and I think our project is really well-suited for the overall theme and direction of the conference. i am so excited, and i can't actually get over the fact that i am excited to do something that will require me to make a big huge presentation to a bunch of strangers, but... it's been happening a lot lately.
planning our engagement party as well, which i think is going to be super cool and which takes some of the overwhelmingness away from planning our wedding... i always assumed that doing something laid back and simple for one's wedding would reduce the amount of stress involved, but somehow that's the opposite of what is happening! not really, i exaggerate. but there are a lot of considerations, which i guess i didn't, well, consider. that's the real issue, but it will all work out no doubt and be totally fucking awesome, we are going to make sure of it!
i get to go see my favorite child in the whole universe tomorrow, shaela rose... she is so amazing. everytime i go a week without seeing her, something crazy happens, like she starts walking, or has forty-seven teeth. stop growing up so fast, all the way out there in brooklyn! or, rather i guess it's ok to grow up fast shaela. we are going to need you for a babysitter...
