election night moment of zen: watching michelle mitchell kirk the fuck out after losing the sheriff's race, after holding that office for a gazillion(12) years. she was chewing gum, and when they had her on television last night, she was freaking out so badly that the gum was flying all over her mouth while she was, well...freaking out. it was quite a sight. i kept waiting for her to take a swing at one of the visibly disoriented campaign supporters still stupid enough to be lingering around. um, concession speech? i'm pretty sure that was her concession speech.
most disturbing thing i've witnessed in the past four hours: in someone elses car this a.m. i heard some morning show douchebag taking calls from french people who are here in the u.s., regarding the riots... it was unbelievably inane. he kept calling them frenchy and speaking to them like they were kindergartners. "do they still hate us over there?" he asked, in his patronizing, american blowhard nitwit tone. i fucking hope so.
